Let's share the happy news to encourage each other as "Polyplastics-Family"!

Half marathon completion commemoration

The photo I shared was downloaded from the Huawei Health app which is used to record the physical exercise. Although this is a photo of virtual medal, it proves that I achieved my first half marathon on October 19th, 2023.
I turned running into a hobby about four years ago. Up to now, I’ve already ran over 1000km.My first 5km running was on May 15th,2019. From then on, I gradually increased the distance, 5km 7km 10km 12km. For me, every increase of distance was a breakthrough. Running keeps me in a good state and happy mood and gradually becomes an indispensable part of my life.
I believe that I will definitely complete a lot of half marathon, and I will never forget the sense of happiness and success when I completed my first half marathon.
I love running!

Castle by the sea which used to be called “Home”

If I were to travel back in time exactly 10 years ago and tell my younger self that I would one day be living inside a Harry Potter-like medieval castle next by the sea, he would think that I am out of my mind. But the truth being told is that it did happen, and this photo commemorates the early days when I first set foot on the soils of Wales. After finishing high school in Malaysia, I was offered to further my study abroad in the land of fish and chips, the United Kingdom. It was an offer of a lifetime in which I couldn’t resist, an offer to study in one of the prestigious colleges for undertaking the International Baccalaureate Diploma (known as the IB). For a young man who had no experience of living outside of his homeland and to suddenly leave his country in the search of knowledge, it was indeed a huge step filled with unforeseen challenges. In spite of the challenges faced, the experience of meeting people of different nationalities, ethnicities, and cultures from various parts the world was very much rewarding. Also, I would proudly say that it was through those challenges that shaped the person who I am today. A wise man once said, “It is through adversity that we find strength”.

Biking Down the side of a Volcano

This photo was taken while biking down Cotopaxi stratovolcano in Ecuador. The wind was quite fierce that day so hiking to the base of the glacier was incredibly difficult making it unsafe and not possible. But I was still able to bike down from the Refugio parking lot (around 14,750ft/4,500m in elevation) which was quite difficult in of itself, with steep descent and very loose soil. We started our trek down a mere 100 meters from the base of the glacier shown in the photo biking through the clouds at one point for approximately a total of 19 miles (31km). During this trip, I also went surfing for the first time along the coast of Ecuador as well as visited Machu Picchu in the later half of the trip.

Finally in Madeira

This picture was taken in Madeira. This trip was planned almost a year before Corona and had to be postponed several times due to the pandemic. Nevertheless, I did it and I was amazed by the culture, nature, and the delicious national dishes.
Although the situation was still very tense, we didn’t notice much of it on the island. The security precautions were different than we were familiar with but still gave us a sense of security.
Nature and culture are very fascinating on television or in pictures. However, nothing compares to the island when you are allowed to experience, see, and explore it yourself.
The well-known small market hall brings out so many unknown fruits. So much that we don’t know, but also some that we know in terms of name and appearance but are completely different in taste.
Because of the long planning and rescheduling, this trip will always be particularly remembered.

My First 2024 Trail Running Event

I have started my trail running journey for 2024 by joining the Lagong Hill 2024 Challenge near Kuala Lumpur. This challenge required me to run 3 loops with distance of 12km and elevation gain of 800m per loop which equal to 36km within 12 hours starting from 1030 pm until 1030 am. During this event, most of the time I have to run individually in the jungle which is great experience for myself as this is my first time joining trail running at night. Thanks to the organizer which mark the route well to prevent runners from missing from track. With about 80 total runners, I have managed to place myself at 7th place Men Open with time of 7 hours and 30 mins! I am proud of myself as I just started to join trail running discipline from last year.
This is my first running event for 2024 and hope to continue this journey by joining other challenge as well in future. Wish me luck!

Our 10th Company anniversary

The picture has been taken at the 10th company anniversary of LCPG. The whole LCPG team celebrated this event at a vineyard in our region. For us this was very special because we could enjoy friendship, colleague atmosphere and team work. In the 10 years we have gone together through very good and challenging times. This had increased the teamwork even more.
