Cute hand molds
Hand molds are handy and useful kitchen gadgets. It comes in all shapes, heart-shaped, round, petal-shaped, square-shaped etc. In daily life, with yam, purple potato as raw materials, I like to make cakes with these molds. Wash and peel the material, steam it, add some dried cranberries, mix it thoroughly, divide it into 50g for each, then press it into any of my favors with these tools, which is not only nutritious and healthy, but also simple and easy to make. During Mid-Autumn Festival I can also make moon cakes with a variety of fillings. During this College entrance exam season of my son, I make the Mung bean cake for him, as a token of the fish leaping over Longmen, it is quite meaningful!
Simple is best
I like the knife. Cutting, crushing, splitting, shaving… If you have just one knife, you don’t need a slicer or peeler, right? Even though it is such a versatile tool, all you need to do to maintain it is to wash it and sharpen it occasionally! It is very simple!
I admire the technique of cutting vegetables into flower-like shapes, called “Kazari-giri.” I believe that it is a magical tool that opens up infinite possibilities if you hone your skills.
Hard to chose just one
My favorite kitchen tool is this multi-purpose zester. Since I love cooking it was hard to choose one kitchen tool, but this one definitely makes me very happy because it helps to add a special touch to savory dishes, desserts and even drinks. Who doesn’t like a pasta with freshly grated Parmesan cheese, or a grilled fish with fresh lemon zest, or a pudding with a touch of grated chocolate?
Tupperware made of glass
My favorite kitchen tool is this glass Tupperware. You can put side dishes you have made in advance and stack them in the refrigerator. When it’s time to eat, just remove the lid and bring it to the table. Hot dishes are great because they can be heated directly in the microwave. Since purchasing this, my repertoire of simple reserve dishes has expanded.
You can reduce the amount of washing by not switching to another container even when the amount is low. We are also contributing to our family’s small sustainable efforts. It’s so convenient to have something ready to eat when you open the fridge!
Efficient tea ball strainer & Kids-friendly vegetable Slicer
It is my routine in the office or home, to use the ball strainer to infuse my favorite loose-leaf tea.
It’s cute, reusable and easy to use compared to the normal filter or non-woven bag. Just lower down the ball, let the chain hang over the side. Then pour in freshly boiled water.
This is the most affordable and eco friendly way to have a sip of sunshine!
The Vegetable slicer is one of my time savers tools. In seconds, I can get the cucumbers, carrots, papayas or even boiled eggs become sliced or wedges. You can get even and more slices per batch, non-slip handle, easy to hold, simple, practical and safe for kids to use.
Handmade sponge that removes dirt well
My favorite kitchen tool is this dish-washing sponge. This is a handmade product by a member of PPC’s handicraft club. It is woven tightly with special yarn, so it is very durable and can remove even the toughest stains. It also has a very good lather when I put detergent on it. I especially like the colorful design.
