Lucky money for Chinese New Year（压岁钱）

Long long ago, there was a monster called “sui”. He liked to float out in the New Year’s Eve to touch the sleeping child on the head. And then the child touched soon had a high fever. When the fever subsided, the child became a fool. Parents who love their child often stay up in this night, guarding their baby, called “shou sui”. By chance, people found that “sui” dare not to disturb the child with red paper wrapped money in the New Year’s Eve. Since then, people have been used to giving lucky money to the younger generation in New Year’s Eve.

The most used LAB equipment in ASEAN TSC

Let me introduce one of the most important and used equipment in our LAB. It is a “Perkin Elmer Spectrum 100” and used for material identification. It is one kind of a FT-IR (Fourier Transform Infra-Red) spectrometer using the infrared light to determine the chemical functional groups in the samples.
We use it almost every day for a job like contamination analysis that is one of issues requested often from our clients. Without it, I think we cannot work here.

The 100 answers Game!

Here is a very fun family borad game in Mexico called “100 Mexicanos Dijeron”, which means “100 Mexicans said”.
It was created based on a TV show, where two teams (families) competed to name the most popular answers to real survey questions that people from different parts of Mexico answered,
to win money. The board game can be played in couples’ teams or single participants and it’s a fun option to test not real knowledge but how people might answer.

An apple a day, keeps the doctor away?

Last few weeks we had heavy rainfall that caused flooding some places in Malaysia.
But recently, it is getting blazing hot. This earth is too old. It is difficult to set air conditioning temperature .
If too low, next day, the kids will wake up with runny nose.
When put them sleep in warm, their bodies ‘ getting high temperature.All I can do, to make sure they take suitable supplement, drink waters frequently ,avoid too much sun exposure and stay being happy kids!.
Eat healthily only could not help us to avoid the doctors. Polyplastics all, let’s stay fit and healthy!
