Tour of the Fuji Plant and TSC for New Managers

On February 15, 2012, a tour was held in the Fuji Plant and TSC for newly-appointed managers. Let’s take a look at the tour through the eyes of Mr. Nicolas Wang and Ms. Windy Cui from Polyplastics Trading (Shanghai) Ltd., who took part in the tour and tell us what they thought of it.

Impression of Fuji TSC

By Nicolas Wang

Feb.15.2012 Cloudy. This is my first time to visit Fuji TSC. An orderly tidy building is my first impression. Every floor has its unique function, for exam, for show room, or for office. It has a reasonable layout just as the scientific and precise character of TSC.
Various devices and instruments were placed in different floors. With TSC member’s introduction, all of the machines were accumulated one by one from the foundation of TSC.
I was touched by the foresight of group leaders. As my understanding, the continuous investment on technical reserve and high level research, those are the deeply reason why Polyplastics could have extreme confidence to provide advanced and practical technical support to sales action.
The show room on fifth floor is decorated with modern equipment. Totally different image I got with a traditional industry display hall. Not only photograph and literal demonstration are used to explain the technical index of product. But also video data is utilized to show the product information. It’s more friendlily interface for visitor.
Fuji TSC visiting is a good experience for me to learn and understand Polyplastics technical development history and perspective. And as a staff without any technical background, I also get more confidence for Polyplastics group in future.

My impression on visiting Fuji TSC

By Windy Cui

It is my first time for visiting Fuji Plant and TSC on Feb.15th, 2012Y which made me deeply impressed.
Mr.CAI who is from CHINA, introduced us the equipment information, overall operation and the function of Fuji TSC. How does the machine operate and what’s the purpose of them, what kind of technical supporting and solution we can provide to our customers. Even if I have worked for TSC almost ten years, this information is totally brand new for me.

Through the introduction of Mr. CAI, I knew the different usage of those equipments from the first floor to the fourth floor had. When we got the fifth floor, the species characteristics and the usage of TSC engineering plastics is shown visually by the new show room of TSC.
There is another interesting thing. The species characteristics and the usage of products would be clearly shown in Chinese, English and Japanese by the screen, when the visitors could put the product labels on the button “Touch Here”.

In our daily life, products of Polyplastics are used widely in the field of electronic products, car, necessities and foods etc...

Through showing room, I hope Polyplastics group will aim to build good relationship with more customers.

2012 Tree Planting Ceremony at Fuji Plant to Commemorate Employees Coming of Age

A tree planting ceremony was held at the Fuji Plant to commemorate the coming of age of employees who turn 20 years old this year. During the ceremony, four employees who joined the company in fiscal 2010 and will officially become adults this year planted a dogwood tree. The new adults expressed their lofty goals with strong statements such as “In full consciousness of my position as an adult member of society, I’ll do my best to become an employee who can make a significant contribution to the company.” About the same time as these new adults who will be responsible for Polyplastics in the future become veteran employees, the little dogwood tree they planted will have grown into a beautiful mature tree.

New Bus Stop with the name "Polyplastics"
—Introducing Fuji Community Bus "Mina Bus" (everyone's bus)—

Mina Bus is a bus used by residents who live the south area of Fuji near the PPC's Plant in Fuji City, Shizuoka prefecture.
In October 2008, Mina Bus was put into service on a trial basis to combat the lack of public transportation in most of area. Polyplastics responded to a request by the area to cooperate in this effort, and now there is a new bus stop on the route named “Polyplastics Mae” (in front of Polyplastics). Polyplastics is making a contribution to the community by helping to expand the route, making it even more convenient. At the same time, this will make the bus available as a means of transportation to our company employees and other people who visit Polyplastics.

We asked Ms. Mari Gotoh, who works in the Information System Department (Fuji) and has used Mina Bus, to tell us about her experience using the bus.

I tried to ride on Mina Bus for the first time after the new bus stop was put up.
The bus is much smaller than regular route buses—actually, it’s a pink jumbo taxi that holds 10 passengers.
The bus driver gave me a cheery greeting as I got on the bus. After I got on, the bus drove down streets that are too narrow for the route buses, stopping here and there to pick up passengers. It was so fun talking to the driver that it didn’t seem to take much time at all to get to Fuji Station.
There are lots of bus stops on the Mina Bus route. So actually, compared to the regular route buses, it takes two or three times longer to get to Fuji Station. But the fare is cheap and people working the day shift at the Fuji Plant who leave work on time can get to Fuji Station just at the right time to catch the train. Unfortunately, Mina Bus departure times from the station don’t work out well for getting to work on time in the morning.
But this leisurely trip from the company to Fuji Station and enjoyable conversation with the bus driver is something you might like to do once in a while.
