Shiwaku-san's Portrait Contest /

Vol.83

This is our first attempt at holding a Portrait (Illustration) contest.

The theme was "The Portrait of Shiwaku-san" and applicants were free to draw a picture of Shiwaku-san based on the sample photo, which could be arranged in any way the applicants liked!

In judging the pictures, a comprehensive judgment was made based not only on whether a picture was drawn well but also on things such as how ingeniously the picture was arranged and the concept for it.

Grand Prize

The garbage problem of the plastic has come to an issue recently, so I decided to draw Shiwaku-san with Earth.
I hope Polyplastics will continue to be the company that can deal with the global environmental problems, with the warm smile of Shiwaku-san.

Honorable Mentions
We introduce the works which were almost top 3! We can’t give them gifts but all of them are so wonderful!

I thought that this contest was really nice, so I entered. I tried to make the chin sharp using the Windows "Paint" function but it was harder than I thought. That's why this picture might not be a very good likeness. Sorry.

・This is really great considering it was drawn with just a mouse!

The image of something like a doggie suddenly came to mind when I saw the photo of Shiwaku-san, so I did a quick sketch on the back of a work hand-over form in the morning at the end of the night shift right before the entry deadline. Don't get mad at me...

< From Editorial team >
Because this is the first Portrait Contest, we were worried that not many people would enter, but a lot of pictures were sent in to us! Thank you very much!
Ordinarily most of us don't get a chance to see Shiwaku-san, but we're glad if this contest made him a little more familiar to everyone!
We hope you will join us again, even if you couldn’t win the prizes this time!
