After school activities in India /

COLUMN PMI Vol.83

In India, schools and other various organizations provide their students with various activities like sports, dance, singing, music, etc.

Many students take the classes for foreign languages like German, French, Japanese, etc.
Regarding the sports activities, many sports foundation academy conduct training for cricket, lawn tennis, table tennis, kho-kho (a popular traditional game in India). Playing musical instruments & classical as well as western singing are also popular after school activities. Another popular activity is art & craft class.
During my school years, I attended classes for the Classical dance form-Katthak (one of the oldest Indian dance form).

These activities help the children in developing artistic instincts, team spirit, and also involving them in fitness actively, etc. Thus, after school activities are quite popular in India and are taken by many students for their overall development.
