After school activities in Germany /

COLUMN LCPG Vol.83

After school activities are indispensable for children to relieve their stress. Most of German children do sports in their leisure time, for example, football, volleyball, basketball or also Sports Chanbara (Spochan).
At the Martial Arts Team Schiller (a Martial Arts School in Braunsbedra near Leuna) children in different ages have the chance to train Sports Chanbara after school. They can improve their fitness and prepare themselves for Sports Chanbara competitions.
Sports Chanbara is becoming more popular in Germany. It is a modern style of the traditional Japanese sword fighting and it can raise and support the general fitness, celerity, flexibility and the confidence of children. It is also suitable for adults regardless of their age. Martial Arts schools are also transmitting the Japanese traditional arms art to the Germans.
