7th Safety Day Held —One day each year set aside for thinking more deeply about safety— /

Topics PPC Vol.66

The 7th Safety Day was held at PPC’s Fuji Plant on July 24, 2014.
The meeting has been held every year since 2008 with the objective of raising the safety awareness of all employees.

The Polyplastics Group Conduct Policy states “We shall vigorously engage in programs devoted to environmental preservation and maintenance of safety.” At Polyplastics we are not satisfied as long as no accidents occur, but believe that identification of potential dangers in the workplace and formulation of measures to combat them are essential for ensuring workplace safety on an ongoing basis. The Safety Day is positioned as a one of the important activities we undertake to achieve this goal.

On the day of the meeting, the president and the plant manager gave short speeches, the safety activities undertaken at the Fuji Plant were introduced, and a visiting lecturer gave a special talk entitled “Disaster Prevention at Chemical Plants.” The meeting began and ended with everyone in attendance reciting the safety slogans in chorus. There was also a driving simulator and other tools that gave people direct experience related to safe driving and let them check their aptitude for safe driving.

Maintenance of workplace safety is achieved by the accumulation of daily effort. We call on everyone in the Polyplastics Group to unite in undertaking this important task!
