PCL 20th Anniversary Company Trip /

News 4 Vol.66

PCL 20th Anniversary Company Trip was held from 15th May to 18th May 2014. After being voted by colleagues, Hokkaido was the most popular destination. It was the first company trip in these 20 years.

On the first day, we arrived at Hokkaido Airport at 15:30.Then we did shopping in Mitsui Outlets and went to hotel in the evening. We enjoyed dinner buffet and chatted with each other happily. Hot spring was served in the hotel. After several flight hours, it was a good choice to have a relaxing hot spring time there. As a Hongkonger, I felt shy because I was nude in front of my colleagues and strangers. But I really felt relaxing and comfortable after hot spring.

On the second day, we went to Noboribetsu Kuma Bokujo. There were over 100 bears and 4 baby bears placed near the entrance to attract customer’s attention. Mr .Tsukamoto bought some bread to feed them. He taught me how to guide the bears to pose by feeding. Some bears stand up, some bears nodded their heads while some bears opened their mouth and kept being close to the window.

After lunch, we went to Noboribetsu Marine Park Nixe. It was amazing because some penguins walked along the path and did some exercises in front of the audience. It was the first time to observe penguins in such a close distance, and I could nearly touch them.

On the third day, the weather was cold and rainy (It was around 6 degree C ). We walked along the Otaru Canal. There were coffee shops, glasswork shops and various kinds of cake shops. It was full of old fashioned style because of warehouse architecture and oil lamps on the street. It made me feel comfortable and silent.

In the afternoon, we visited Shiroi Koibito Chocolate Factory to observe the cookie production process through the big windows. Shiroi Koibito cookie is the most famous souvenirs in Hokkaido which consists of two thin butter cookies and a layer of white chocolate in between. After the Factory visit, we joined a “butter workshop” in a farmland. We were divided into 4 groups by some Japanese instructors. Each colleague tried their best to make the butter as soon as possible. For those who successfully made the butter first, they would help the other colleagues to speed up the making process. It could achieve the “Polyplastics way of family” as each one could achieve the same goal with good cooperation.

On the last day, we finished our journey with a surprise. We could see cherry blossom finally. All of them are excited and took many photos with a happy smile.
Thanks for offering this trip. Hope we will have a chance to go for the next trip in the future.
