Kuantan, the capital city to Pahang, which is the largest state in Peninsular Malaysia compromising a land area of 3,596,585 hectares, Kuantan was originally known as Teruntum in the mid 19th century, owing to its location at the mouth of the Teruntum River. Today, it projects all the characteristics of a modern commercial activity and investors' interest. This was the result of Pahang shifting its focus to include the development of high technology industry and tourism.

Shopping malls, such as latest East Coast Mall, Mega Mall, GIANT Hypermarket and Kuantan Parade, house local and international brands in clothing, footwear, household goods, electrical and electronics, stationary, computing, restaurants and much more. Food, a tradition and "art' form revered by all Malaysians, ranges from a local to western and Japanese delicacies and cuisine, to tantalize discerning taste buds. In addition to restaurants, a myriad of local delights can also be obtained from open-air stalls, characterized by simple table settings, festive-like surroundings, inexpensive meals and patrons from all walks of life.

Kuantan is conveniently located near some of the more popular beaches. Cherating, Teluk Chempedak, Balok and Chendor offer a myriad of beach resorts, chalets and water sports.

Following the shift of its focus to industrialization, Kuantan has continuously improved on utilities, amenities and residential development. Experiencing major focus is the development of the housing sector, especially apartments, bungalows, detached, demi-detached and terraced homes, not just for Kuantan locals but for expatriates and their families. The more prestigious residential offerings include the Sejahtera Condominium (where all our PAP expatriates are staying), Kuantan Tembeling Resort, Bukit Pelindung and Indera Mahkota. This has been met with the establishment of the International School of Kuantan. Established in 1996, the school is a melting pot for national, language and religion, with pupils from Japan, USA and Europe.

Construction of the 169-kilometers East-Coast Highway completed in 2005 is creating another quicker accessibility to other parts of Malaysia for those residing in Kuantan.  Marvelous Scenic Spot -- Cing Shuei Yan [PTW]

Famous for its special scenery of coral reef, Cing Shuei Yan is located on the Phoenix Mountain in Tantou Village, Linyuan Township. From our Ta Fa plant, it only takes in 10 minutes to arrive there by car, about seven to eight kilometers away.

In Cing Shuei Yan, there are some giant coral caves formed by tidal erosion, which is also recommended to visit. Nowadays these caves have been developed and called as "Taoyuan Cave", "Nianfo Cave", and "Longpan Cave". Visitors can carefully carry the self-made lantern, bending down, and walk or crawl within the caves which zigzag forward as if they were endless. To local people, it's a place to venture as childhood beautiful memory.

In this area, trees are tall and green. In the hot summer, people can play chess or brew up tea under the shade of the tree. They can not only feel cool but also have great moods. There are also some stone stairways and pathways on the mountain connecting each spot, which are the good places for local people to go mountain climbing or have some exercise.

Climbing up to Cing Shuei Yan, you can have an overlook and enjoy the spacious scenery, as well as to look far in the distance at Liuchiu, which is surrounded by the ocean. At sunrise or at sunset, the view is different but similarly beautiful. You can also see Linyuan Petrochemical Park, which is situated on the outlet of Gaoping River. When the nightfalls, twinkling lights just make up a magnificent castle on the sea. The view is spectacular and mysterious.

There is an old temple "Cing Shuei Temple" at the foot of mountain. It has been 342 years until now since the temple was established in 1666 A.D. Buddha and Bodhisattva are worshiped inside. It was said that there was a mountain spring beside the temple and the water was so clear this was how the temple was named after. "Cing Shuei Temple" is very solemn and popular, so it has become the religious center in Linyuan area together with WangGong Temple.

Hope you will like the brief introduction and we may have chances to travel together in the near future.

Nantong Moves towards Bridge-Port Epoch [PTM]

People may feel chagrined at crossing the Yangtze River to PTM for business trip before. It costs you 4 hours from Shanghai Airport to PTM by the ferry. But now it is faster to Nantong by Sutong Bridge. The Sutong Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge that spans the Yangtze River in People's Republic of China between Nantong and Changshu, a satellite city of Suzhou, in Jiangsu province. With a span of 1,088 metres, it is the cable-stayed bridge with the longest main span in the world. Its two side-spans are 300 meters each, and there are also four small cable spans. Two towers of bridge are 306 meters high and thus second tallest in the world. Overall the bridge length is 8,206 meters. Construction began in June 2003 and bridge was linked up in June 2007. The bridge was opened to traffic on May 25, 2008 and was officially opened on the 30th June, 2008. Construction has been estimated to cost about US$1.7 billion. The completion of the bridge makes the commute between Shanghai and Nantong, originally completed through ferry route, shorten to about an hour. It brings Nantong one step closer to becoming an important part of the Yangtze River Delta economic zone, and has further attracted foreign investors into the city. The bridge is also pivotal in the development of poorer northern Jiangsu regions.

Yangkou Port, located at the northern reaches of the Yangtze River Delta, Rudong County, Nantong City, Jiangsu Province of China, has been found to be suitable for the construction of a deep-water port capable of berthing cargo vessels of 100,000 to 200,000dwt after 20 years' scientific research by famous CAS Academicians. It possesses qualification of a deepwater seaport; has rich land resources; holds abundant underground water resources; carries on water-railway, water-road, and water-water transport system; and has gas turbine plant and wind-power which can provide enough power resources for the portside industry. All these provide superior advantages for the development of Yangkou Port. Yangkou Port, the 'River-Ocean Pearl', harbors unlimited opportunities and embraces bright future. It will be a shining pearl along the southern Yellow Sea in the near future
