Good memory of my school days

I always feel proud and blithe to tell others I am an schoolfellow of Nantong Xinqiao High School (NXHS)! This school gave me not only the most unforgettable but also the most magnificent memory, embellishing a lot of beautiful colors to my adolescent period. 17 years ago, I entered into NXHS unexpectedly. I never though of being a NXHS student before, for it was a little far away from my home. which I regard as a nightmare at the very beginning. However, I fell in love with this not big but delicate school gradually, because I developed strong friendship with numerous nice classmates there. I also met a lot of philosophical teachers who not only taught me knowledge but also educated me how to be sensitive to my own life. Besides, I was attracted by the styles (or even "spirits") of this school. All these elements constructed a beautiful high school memory for me!
I had a lot of good classmates in NXHS, and the most touching part was that our steady friendship was based on true care for one another. All my classmates were just like intimate families creating a mutual great and interesting (even a b bit crazy) high school memory. For example, in the first and second year, our class often held fascinating "cooking parties" on the campus, such as barbeques, hot pots and so on. It was very relaxing to eat tasty food and have small talks with classmates at the same time on the campus. Besides, we also often play badminton and other sports together after school. As I could remember, when I was a junior, my class was competing with another class to grasp the basketball championship. Almost all the members in my class went to the gymnasium to cheer for our class players cohesively. Although we were defeated unfortunately, the class atmosphere became more harmonious due to everyone's physical (players) or spiritual (cheer team) altruistic contribute to this game. We also often went to KTV, went camping, took trips, watched movies, went to baseball stadium to watch games to release pressure on academic performance and have fun together. In addition to the pleasure aspect, we experienced a couple of sentimental events as well, which indeed strengthened our friendship. For instance, at the beginning of the first semester in the second year, my best friend felt extremely depressed and mournful at her mother's death. At that time, she fell into the deep valley of despair. Yet, she was lucky enough to have such thoughtful friends, who spent time encouraging her to look the bright side by providing some positive ideas for her. With their company and support, she gradually went out of the valley. What's more, when all of us made our great efforts to prepare for the exam in the senior year, we always inspired one another, because we believed that we were all "revolutionary partners" aiming to pursuit our own dreams on this evolving way. All in all, my friends whom I met in NXHS account for the majority of my memory for my high school days.
In NXHS, I was influenced to certain extent by some teachers. To be honest, I encountered several teachers whom I liked or disliked. Nevertheless, fortunately, the number of the teachers whom I loved exceeded that of the teachers whom I didn't love. From my perspectives, those who could gave students some inspiration on daily life or share his or her unique experience on various events rather than just put emphasis on studies qualified to be good teachers. I was fond of my history teacher, Wang Miao-Yun, because her humble attitude towards life affected me a lot. she told us that we couldn't disappoint our parents after entering ideal colleges. These words always act as a function of spurring me when I am a bit slack now. I also liked my English teacher, Frank Wang. I admired him for his confidence and teaching methods. It was he that let me made up my mind to major in English. He emphasized on the interaction with students instead of giving us boring one-way stuffed education. In addition to the textbooks, he implemented lots of extracurricular readings for us, such as New York Times or Reader's Digest to broaden our horizon. He said, "As a global citizen, you cannot ignore what is happening in the world." I strongly agreed with his attitude and confidence. Now, when I have free time, I often return to school to visit them and I show my gratitude for them, as they enlightened me during my twilight teen years.
Although, for many people, NXHS is not as outstanding as those so-called "shining high schools," it indeed has a lot of special and splendid cultures which influence constructively its students a lot.
