In FY2017, the Polyplastics Group received a number of awards from customers and suppliers. You can read them in greater detail when our 2018 CSR Report comes out in July, but we want to give you a preview of some of our accolades from last year and the early part of this year.

We’ll begin with the awards Polyplastics received from our customers. Like in other years, many of our customers recognized us for our products and services. In FY2017, this included the “Global Contribution Award” from Nifco Inc., the “Supplier Best Quality Award in 2017” from Xiamen Hongfa Electroacoustic Co., Ltd., the “Award for Best Cost Support Supplier 2017” from PT Keihin Indonesia and the “Excellent Management Support Award” from Shimano (Singapore) Pte. Ltd.

These awards encourage us to further meet the expectations of our customers as the “No. 1 Solution Provider for Engineering Plastics.”

To talk about the awards from our suppliers, we’re going to jump to FY2018 and tell you about a corporate milestone. Just this past April, President Toshio Shiwaku joined with people from Petronas to mark “15 years of business and 500,000 t of methanol trade between us.”

Petronas has long been an important supplier of methanol and other materials we use to make POM and currently provides us with 80,000 t of methanol and 5,000 t of MEG every year for our PAP.
Since a stable supply of methanol is critical to producing POM, we are truly happy to have good relations with the suppliers like Petronas.
