Safety Monozukuri Dojyo training activities /

Topics PTW Vol.71

We have continually promoted a variety of safety activities (UA/UC, TBM/KY, Safety patrol and 5S) to eliminate hazards, predict risk and further make a practice of keeping safe. As I mentioned above, it shows that recognizing hazards our employees potentially encounter is the first step toward protecting them from danger in familiar workplaces. Therefore, in order for our employees to reinforce ability of hazards identification and root safety awareness deeply, we introduced the Safety Monozukuri Dojyo training from PPC in fiscal 2015.

After six months overall planning, we established a series of Safety and Quality Monozukuri Dojyo training combining theory with practice in August 2015. At present, our safety training contains eight stations including "Experience of the magnetic bar", "Cross section of valves", "Flow characteristics of common valves", "Danger of falling objects", "Potential risk of residual pressure", "V-belt and chain in-running motion", "Rotary valve" and "Drunk and dizzy". By means of these training programs, we can demonstrate why we shall follow up Basic Safety Rules prior to the start of any operations, such as the station of "Danger of falling objects" to use a hammer and bowl to simulate the impact of falling objects against our heads, which is proved that failing to wear PPE certainly cause ourselves to be exposed to danger.

In the future, we will make every effort to conduct this training to all employees and in-house contractors, and do our best to innovate new projects for keeping safe!
