Barbeque Party Held /

Topics PPC Vol.71

On October 3, a barbeque party was held at Shin Toyosu so that employees could get to know each other better. Forty-eight adults and children attended. We were blessed with beautiful weather on the day of the event and everyone had a great time.

Shin Toyosu is the site where the 2020 Olympic games will be held and right now the area is being actively developed, so it has become a focus of wide-spread attention. Even though the Olympic site just 3 kilometers away from the Ginza is located in the city, it is spread with 550 tons of white sand so it seemed just like we had come to a tropical country.

Mr. Chiba in the General Administration Department attended the party and brought along Yonezawa beef, which is the best brand of Japanese beef. One person from each table got in a group to play the rock, paper, scissors game; everyone really cheered on the representative from their table because the winning table got to eat the Yonezawa beef.

The restaurant where we held the barbeque offered two party plans: food and drink could be supplied by the restaurant or by us. We chose to bring our own food and drink. But we had a limited budget, so the planning committee composed largely of union members had a hard time choosing the food and drink and making sure there was enough for everyone. But thanks the care they took in planning the menu, the barbeque was a great success and we all came away happy and satisfied.

In future, we hope to make more enjoyable opportunities such as this for getting together with colleagues and deepening our relationships.
