On January 30, a party was held at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel attended by about 120 employees from the head office in Tokyo.
Ryuichi Sekita, senior managing executive officer, gave the opening words of greeting after which the party began.
As everyone enjoyed the delicious food, served buffet-style, a quiz competition—a standard feature of the party every year—was held. How to distinguish POM and PBT grades and comparison of the tastes of different varieties of salt were a couple of the many difficult questions that puzzled team members.
Also, really great prizes were given away in a lottery. We all vacillated between being happy and disappointed as each winner was announced.
During the party, there was also a surprise event—a dance performance by volunteers. The dance was one that is seen in Youkai Watch, an anime TV program extremely popular with children in Japan.
Yuki Yoneda, one of the executive officers, ended the party with a message in which he expressed his wish that this year would be a good year for the Polyplastics Group.
