It seems like only yesterday that I came to Japan. Actually, it’s almost time for me to go back home. When I entered the Japanese workplace—well-known the world over for being pretty severe—I was anxious about my language ability, which I didn’t want anyone to know, and so those were nerve-wracking days. But I’d like to pat myself on the back for getting through it somehow.

During my two years in Japan, career experience wasn’t the only thing I gained; my private time was also fulfilling and lots of fun. I went to see one of the three largest cherry trees in Japan in a place that’s hard to get to, but I managed it; climbed Mt. Fuji and viewed the sunrise at the peak, but got absolutely exhausted climbing back down; visited shrines that were supposed to give you lots of power, although for some reason I didn’t feel anything; entered the Tokyo Marathon in spite of my lack of physical strength because I wanted to challenge my power of endurance, but of course I ended up dropping out of the race on the way; going to see performances of Kyogen comic theater, which I really got hooked on. I was able to make so many wonderful memories. Thanks to all of my experiences in Japan, my life has become even more enriched.
