The President’s Year-End Report Meeting for FY2014 was held in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Fuji City in the period from the end of January to the beginning of February. President Gotoh gave a report on the company’s performance to employees and also talked about challenges to be undertaken by the whole company and his expectations for each of the divisions and departments at PPC and the challenges they must undertake.

The Headline article introduces a review of PPC’s performance in FY2014, and Polyplastics’s course for the future, to be shared by all Group companies.

Performance Report
Sales Amount
Sales in both the first and second half of the fiscal year exceeded estimates. Total sales in FY2014 of ¥128.9 billion exceeded the estimate by ¥5.2 billion.
It was also reported that the company performed better than the prospects for company performance in FY2014 and FY2015 set by the mid-term business plan.

Operating Profit
Total operating profit for the first and second half of the fiscal year was ¥12.9 billion, which exceeded the ¥10 billion estimate by ¥2.9 billion.
Operating profit also was higher than the estimates for FY2014 and FY2015 in the mid-term business plan.

As was mentioned in the CEO Message given at the beginning of the year, 2014 was a year of rapid and major changes. It was also a year of good changes for the company, as the performance reports shows.

Company-wide Challenges
President Gotoh mentioned some challenges in relation to business strategy and business support.
In 2015, a global approach to business activities will get fully underway.

・Step up of social contribution activities including volunteer activities
・Foster in employees mindfulness of kaizen, encapsulated in the watchword “Get awareness, think and act”
・Development of highly capable human resources by providing more opportunities for exchange of human resources between Group companies
