Han Style Adult Ritual /

Although it is not a popular traditional custom that young people celebrate their age 18 which is normally regarded as an adult, nowadays Han style adult ritual is becoming recovered.

Since ancient times, Ethnic Han has had a ritual for adult, which is called "cap ritual" for boys and "hair pinning ritual" for girls. It last thousands of years until Ethnic Man invaded. The Man rulers put an end to the rite which was stretched for thousands of years in order to control Ethnic Han’s culture. So for a long period, this ritual disappeared and young people went into adulthood unconsciously.

In order to develop good traditional culture, the social begins to recover this Han style adult ritual for young people. It can remind them that they will enter adult society formally and should take adult responsibility, take good virtue, to become a qualified social role from now on. In this traditional ceremony, young people can face up to their responsibility, complete the role transformation, and declare to grow up. This ritual normally is organized by the school of young people, also for the more purpose to encourage them to study hard, try best to realize their dreams or to be ready for enter into society. By this ritual, young people are able to know more about the traditional culture, and also the ritual impresses young people with their responsibility of the future.
