From contributor:
The “collection” starts from the end of 1994. It has walked a long way down here, and it has to go on with the rest of the journey. A life-time’s memory.

From editor:
I like writing down things in a notebook, too, so I can really understand how you feel! My notebooks aren’t in such an orderly state, though, so sometimes when I look back over something I wrote, I think “When was that?”

From contributor:
My Hina dolls are the same age as I am. They were made by a traditional Japanese method known as kimekomi*. In the 40 years since first got them, they haven’t broken or faded and are still as beautiful as ever.
The dolls are a treasure which I will cherish all my life.

* kimekomi: method for making wooden doll with Japanese costumes. It is made from wood with the edges tucked into grooves in the wood.

From editor:
Hina dolls are of great importance for Japanese women. A set of Hina dolls is displayed for the Doll Festival on March 3 in the homes with women. The elegant twelve-layered ceremonial kimono worn by the empress is something little girls dream of wearing. I also have a set of Hina dolls that I cherish.

From contributor:
My treasures are this book of my favorite writer and this telephone card. The telephone card was offered to the person whose afterword was chosen to appear in a book. I sent in an afterword and mine was chosen. I was excited to have my afterword chosen out of several thousand applications sent in from all over Japan and to have my name appear in the book! Having your own name appear in the book of a writer you like so much is a miracle that seldom happens. So these are ones of my special treasures.

We hope you enjoyed reading this article.
