1) Twelve Animals of Lunar Chinese Year

Lunar New Year is the most important Chinese festival in Hong Kong. According to the Chinese traditional calendar, there is a 12-year Chinese Zodiac cycle which in sequence are Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig respectively. In each Lunar New Year, Hong Kong post office launches an animal stamp to represent that Chinese Zodiac cycle. 2014 is the Year of Horse. If you start to collect stamp from Horse, the cycle will be ended up at the Year of Snake in 2025.

2) Children Stamps – The Ingenuous Artists ( November 18, 2001)

In order to arouse the interest of collecting stamps from children, these stamps were issued in 18 November 2001. It was sticker type of stamp. Children could fill in their favorite colors on the body part. It could not only stimulate their creativity but also could serve the purpose of education.

3) Hong Kong Tea Culture (September 9, 2001)

Tea culture has been existing among Chinese. These stamps were specially designed ones to reflect the tea culture in Hong Kong. The purple one is “Kung Fu Tea” from Chaozhou. The tea tool is extremely small. Each cup is only about 30ml.
The brown one is “Hong Kong-style Mike Tea” which is popularly served in the morning or afternoon tea time. It is a mixture of several types of black tea, red tea and condensed milk. Sugar is added by customers themselves. The key tool of making Hong Kong-style Mike Tea is the cloth bag to filter the tea leave.
The orange stamp describes the “Yum Cha” culture with dim sum. Most elderly enjoy it in the morning. The green stamp represents the way of serving tea tool.
