Postage stamp in Malaysia is often issued related to the date such as an event, famous persons, anniversary and popular objects.

One of the stamps that are issued in Malaysia is Malaysian Festival Stamp – Thaipusam. It was issued in 2012.

The stamp was issued by Malaysian Postal Department. The stamps are valued at 30 sen, 60 sen and RM1 and the size of the stamp is 40mm x 30mm.

Thaipusam is one of the festivals celebrated in Malaysia by the Hindus. This is the 2nd biggest celebration for Hindu after Deepavali. This year the celebration was held on January 17.

The stamp is showing a couple of Indian with their son wearing the prayer dress. The background is the temple and flowers, symbol of harmony and purity.
