Donate Second-hand Goods for Charity Bazaar

We joined the activity to collect second-hand goods for the charity bazaar held on October 25, which is hosted by the medical center of community, Kaohsiung Municipal Hospital. By selling those goods in the charity bazaar, the hospital mainly raise funds for poor or low-income patients of community.
Kaohsiung Municipal Hospital holds a charity bazaar every year to raise substantial funds and continues caring for ill patients and their families. The goods for sale are dependent on people’s donations of high quality, unwanted items.

Being a part of the community, we were pleased to join the collection of second-hand goods and clothings. Many employees made generous response to the appeals for the charity bazaar. Over 82 main goods were received by employees’ contribution. After sorting and labeling goods, we sent staff’s donations to the hospital. The cheerful news from the hospital is the charity activity was held smoothly on October 25, and they successfully achieved the goal of fund-raising.

PTW Golf Club’s Trip in 2013

Sammi Lee of Administration Dept.

There are several kinds of clubs in PTW’s welfare committee. All employees in PTW would join one club which likely depends most on one’s hobby. There are almost 30 members in PTW Golf Club. It holds different activities every year, such as playing golf, watching movies and singing songs together. We always attend these activities not only by ourselves but also with our families. In PTW, we consider ourselves as a one big family.

This year we had a two-day trip on November 16-17 in Nantou County. It is situated in the center of Taiwan. It is also the only county in Taiwan that is not geographically located near the sea. Nantou County is surrounded by more mountain terrains. The fact that it has so many wonderful sightseeing places, we have decided to visit there as for this year’s (2013) trip.

We drove to Nantou County by ourselves with joy and met other members there.
The night we stayed in the hotel, we had a big meal together, drunk and went to karaoke until 10 pm. Some were chatting and some were brewing up tea while people were singing. We had a lot of fun that night; we didn’t even want it to be ended. But we had to go to bed because we will visit a beautiful station on the following day.

Next morning, we went our way to Checheng Station by a colored train which is unique for Jiji line railroad. Checheng Station is the terminal station of the Jiji branch on the Western Line. In early days it was the intermediary station that was used for the light railway traffic and was connecting Puli and Erhshui. Nowadays, it is considered as the “last train station” of the Jiji line railroad. Checheng used to be the main distribution center for the Nantou County’s timber industry, however with logging gradually replaced by environment conservation, the timber industry also declined. However, the Checheng Recreation Farm now combines tourism resources such as railroad, timber and electrical industry, agricultural specialty product as well as ecology.

We enjoyed every experience we had in Nantou. Not only will the place be considered as most historical place in Taiwan but also remain as a good memory to everyone who visited there. We really do appreciate our leader of the Golf Club, Ms. Jessica, for arranging this trip with us. All of us felt great and happy with this trip, and cannot wait to have the trip of 2014.
