Introducing Polyplastics Marketing Mexico, S.A de C.V (PolyMX)

As you all know, Polyplastics Marketing Mexico, S.A de C.V (PolyMX) was established as an import and sales company in October 2013 in Mexico City, Mexico.

In October, Mr. Esteban Rodriguez, who is a new member of the Polyplastics-Family and put in charge of sales at PolyMX, came to PPC for training. P-Mates interviewed Mr. Rodriguez about his country and his impressions of Polyplastics!

Q: What kind of country is Mexico?
As you know, Mexico is one of the Latin American countries and it has a long and proud history. We have a very interesting culture that blends native and European influences, because Mexico has followed in the wake of Europe countries.

In regard to Mexico’s economy, ten years ago we lagged behind Brazil. In recent years, though, we have experienced continuing economic growth in association with the growth of our automotive industry (including exports to America) and aerospace industry. Mexico is one of the countries for which high expectations are held for future economic growth.

Q: Could you tell us about the place where the PolyMX office is located?
The PolyMX office is in the Polanco district of Mexico City. This is an area where large corporations are concentrated, so it has the atmosphere of a business district. There are a lot of wealthy people living in the area and it is a very safe part of the city!
There are also many Japanese business representatives stationed there. And it is convenient because it also has supermarkets, shopping malls, and restaurants.

Q: Please tell us about yourself and your impressions of Polyplastics.
I majored in chemical engineering at the university. After I graduated, I worked for Sumitomo Corporation and Lanxess. During the eight years I worked at Sumitomo Corporation I came to Japan on business several times. When I was at Lanxess I led a sales team of seven people. We marketed biochemical products.

I decided to join PolyMX because the opportunity to be involved in building a sales force and corporate culture in a new company will be a very positive experience from the standpoint of both my career and my personal growth.

Mr. Esteban Rodriguez

My impression of Polyplastics is that it is a very disciplined company with a large presence in Japan and Southeast Asia. It is an engineering plastics company that is reliable and trusted by customers.
And compared with competitors, Polyplastics’ focus on building solid relationships with its customers is another strong point. I was surprised to learn about this. Polyplastics is not concerned only with selling products, but with forging partner relationships with customers in order to contribute to their success.

During my visit to Japan this time, I received lectures in Tokyo and Fuji City on many aspects of the Polyplastics' business. I want to utilize what I have learned to advantage to make a success of our sales activities in Mexico.

Along with PolyUS and PolyEU, which were established in 2012, PolyMX will play a big role in enhancing Polyplastics’ presence. Let’s look forward to the new company’s success in the future!
