Till Oct. 18, 2012, PTM achieved the target of no accidnet for continuous 3 years from Oct. 19, 2009. PTM released safety awards to employees and subcontractors for their great efforts.
ESH section shares their experience of how to achieve the target as following:
- Establish ESH management objective and targets. And inform them to each department and each responsible person.
- Each department shall put items of attention related to environment, safety and health in daily activity into SOP.
- Take the tools of safety management in works, such as TBM/KY, UAUC, UBCA etc.
- Identify risks in the work, and make countermeasures for them.
- Actively promote the continuous improvement, modify unsafe behaviors and unsafe
condition etc. Inspire our employees to optimize work environment.
- Establish the strict rule of reward and punishment.
- Establish the ESH performance management. Strictly implement the policy of rewarding the safe behavior and punishment the unsafe behavior.
- To implement the safety inspection rule, analyze the reason of potential trouble, and
improve it until eliminate it completely.
- Establish the rule of holding periodical meeting including safety representative meeting, safety management committee and the site shift meeting etc.
- Implement the rule that leader is on duty and inspect daily.
- Periodically train all employees ESH knowledge and improve related skill.
- Define employees' right and obligation for safety work.
- Strictly implement the rule for special work.
- External management aspect: conclude and sign the ESH agreement with suppliers and contractors, manage strictly by establishing of the evaluation system.
- Create the full participation atmosphere for ESH activities, and enhance safety awareness.
