Polyplastics established two new companies- Introduction of PKL

Polyplastics established two new companies—Polyplastics Korea Ltd. (PKL) in September 2011 and Polyplastics USA, Inc. in April 2012.

This time in Special Topics employees in PKL introduce themselves and tell about the work they do.

Introducing PKL

PKL office

PKL started up business operations in January 2012. We now have a staff of four Koreans and two Japanese who have been assigned here. We are conducting sales activities targeted at some of Korea's major global companies including Hyundai Motor Company, Samsung, and LG. PKL was established principally for the purpose of conducting sales activities targeting not only companies within Korea but also in other countries through Polyplastics' overseas bases, by "Spec-in" activities and market development in the head offices of these Korean companies. The staff will unite in making every effort to contribute to rapid global expansion of the Polyplastics business.

Korea has a population of 50 million and a land area only about one quarter that of Japan.
During 2011, 3.27 million people visited Korea from Japan and 1.66 million people visited Japan from Korea.
Like Japan, Korea is a country that offers the beauty of the changing four seasons and has living standards that are comfortable and agreeable to people from other countries. Korea will certainly be ranked among the overseas countries where Polyplastics employees would most like to be stationed. If you get the chance, be sure to come over and visit us.

Tomoki Honma, MD of PKL
I joined Polyplastics in April 2010 when I made a mid-career job change. In 2011, I was assigned to work on sales and marketing targeting Korea.
Later, in December 2011, I was sent over to Korea after the new sales company was set up.
Korea is a foreign country that is so close in physical proximity to Japan; you feel you can go there any time. Because of that, I often heard people say "Korea is close, but it's far away." I had only visited Korea once before I started working on sales to Korean companies, and I only knew the word annyeonghaseyo (hello) in Korean. But after going over several times, I found that there is no time lag with Japan and the food is great—it's the only foreign country you can visit where it feels the same as if you're traveling in Japan. Now I feel completely different about Korea; for me it has become "a country that is close and comfortable to live in." However, I've still not caught on to the Korea boom—I've never seen the popular drama Fuyu no Sonata (Winter Sonata) and I have no idea how many girls are in the music group Girls' Generation.
This is the second time for me to be assigned overseas. I don't think you can be called a "expatriate" in the true sense if you aren't able to speak the local language. So I'll learn Korean so that I can really enjoy living here in Korea.

Hitoshi Maeda
My name is Maeda and I was newly appointed to work at PKL in September 2012.
When I was assigned to the Sales & Marketing8 Department in 2009, I thought it would probably be quite a while before I would be working somewhere overseas. But it seems that not much time has gone by since then at all, and here I am in Korea!
I'm sure you've all heard about the amazing rapid advancement Korean manufacturers are making in recent years. They are certainly some of our most valued customers. I really feel privileged to have been sent to Korea to work at PKL, which targets these important customers.
I'm still not used to the Korean ppali ppali (as soon as possible) style, but I want to cooperate with all the PKL employees in doing my part to contribute to Polyplastics' global business expansion.

Michael Kim
This is Michael Kim in charge of Sales & Marketing in PKL. I joined this company from March 2012 and am really happy to be a member of PKL. Now I'm learning many things with PKL members for the products and systems. It will be a great chance for me. If you got any questions for Korean market, please feel free to contact me at any time.
My hobby is to play table tennis.

Eunki Park
I am Eun-Ki Park, English name is Gilbert, worked for Samsung Cheil industries dealing with chemical export market for 9 years and Sabic innovative plastics Korea (formally GE Plastics) in charge of key OEM business of domestic market for 5 years, and newly joined Polyplastics Korea Ltd. (PKL) in Aug. '12.
It is exceedingly exciting to work for such a global company, Polyplastics, expanded engineering plastic business and collaborated with valuable customers for 50 years in various industries, such as Automotive, E&E and consumer products.
Utilizing my previous plastic experiences, I am willing to actively learn Polyplastics business and culture, and dedicate myself to grow the future business. Douzo yorosiku onegaisimasu..^^

Selina Yoo
Hi, I'm Selina Yoo in charge of PKL logistics.
After 10 years of managing logistics field in Air liquide & Honeywell, I joined PKL in 2012 May and met many people in PPC group till now. I think that the warm-hearted kindness, open mindedness and global attitude I felt at that time can be the strong merit of the Polyplastics Group's developments in overseas markets.
In recent commercial, I heard a phrase of "It's more important how you do it rather than what you do". I'd like to be a person who do my best always in anywhere and feel a sense of accomplishment in there.
I hope this mind will be helpful to strengthen the PKL's basis.

Jeong Min Seo
Hello, my name is Jeong Min Seo. I've been working in the Sales Department since December 2011.
Mainly, I do general office work that includes accounting-related work, ordering of office supplies, and answering telephone calls. I've never done office work before and there are many things I'm still not used to, soI sometimes put people to the trouble of having to help me out. I'll do my best to learn the work quickly so that I can be a productive member of PKL.
