As you already know from the CEO Message, Polyplastics acquired LCP Leuna Carboxylation Plant GmbH (LCPG), a manufacturer specializing in production of p-HBA, one of the raw material monomers of liquid crystal polymer in September 2012.

Polyplastics' LCP business has been rewarded with high esteem by our customers, with its comprehensive strength includes products' property, marketing ability, product development capacity, detailed technical service and productivity. It made it possible for Polyplastics to establish a strong market position as a No.1 LCP supplier in Asia. In the future, this business is expected to grow further with the market expansion of smartphone and tablet PC as well. On the other hand, market circumstances of LCP business is getting more severe with the fierce development race in the IT devices market, aggravated price race caused by suppliers enter into LCP business in developing countries, and so on. It becomes a significant key factor for the growth of LCP business to press forward with technical innovation, strengthen cost competitiveness and ensure stable supply.
The acquisition of LCPG is a big step forward for Polyplastics' LCP business that will lead to greater cost competitiveness and the capability to ensure stable product supply.

A town meeting was held on September 13. The meeting was attended by PPC representatives including Senior Managing Executive Officer Ryuichi Sekita.

At the town meeting, Mr. Sekita and Executive Officer Toshio Shiwaku gave presentations on topics such as "Polyplastics Corporate Philosophy," "Why We Work Together," and "Our Goals." These presentations gave everyone a renewed sense of their mission to unite in working toward shared goals in the days and years ahead.
