The "2004 Self-Protection Fire Brigade Pump Operation Competition"
  "Get a bronze medal"

The "2004 Self-Protection Fire Brigade Pump Operation Competition" organized by the Fuji City Fire Prevention Association was held on October 30 (Sunday) at the Fuji City Public Wholesale Market and the power pump team from the Fuji Plant participated in the pump vehicle operation competition, where they came in a very respectable third. This is the 32nd time the pump vehicle operation competition has been held, and the Fuji Plant gained third place for the first time since it started competing in 1973.

In the past, numerous senior fire brigade members trained rigorously and participated in the competition but they did not quite make it into a top-three position. This time, the pump team headed by fire brigade members roused themselves for an all-out effort this year and not only did they practice after work - they also engaged enthusiastically in training early in the morning before work (7 AM) and during their lunch break looking forward to the competition.

By no means did the power pump team only pursue technique — rapid, alert, and precise operation is sought in the case of an actual emergency occurring on the basis of "Self-Protection of our Own Company." Through participating in such a competition, improving technique is also an effective means.
Did everyone know that the Fuji Plant is the only site in the city of Fuji that legally requires a chemical fire engine? The third placing gained this time not only reflects the results of mere fire fighting activity. It may also be said that through recognition from public bodies and citizens of the neighboring community, a major result not readily visible to the eye has also be gained.

We would like to express our profound thanks to the members of the power pump team that returned such positive results to the Fuji Plant.

Engineer at TSC from MTEC, Thailand
My name is Yuttana Kositsagul. I am one of plastic engineering group members at MTEC. MTEC is the major organization fostering the growth and development of the all fields of materials in Thailand including metals, ceramics and polymers. At MTEC, my responsibility is involved in Multi-component injection moldings, especially in Gas injection molding.
According to the cooperation agreement between PPC and MTEC, I come here to get the training and this is my first time in my life that I come to Japan. At Technical Service Center (TSC) of PPC, I see a lot of exceptionally competent staffs and they work tirelessly and are devoted themselves to their company wholeheartedly. In the meanwhile, staffs in TSC are full with empathy and generosity. This incident really impresses me. It is undoubtedly that why PPC can dramatically thrive in the very short time span. Besides, Fuji city not only is the serene and peaceful city but also has the beautiful bucolic scenery. I feel much honored that once in my life time I obtain this wonderful opportunity. Hopefully, the symbiotic relationship between the two parties will be strengthened. In the foreseeable future, I will bring all valuable experience to put it into concrete results. Eventually, I would like to ask this special occasion to express my appreciation to PPC and MTEC giving me a very good chance.
