News 4 Vol.73

For over 40 years since 1974, the Fuji Plant has regularly conducted a meeting for people living in the neighboring area to exchange ideas and opinions in regard to environmental matters. Every year, neighborhood representatives (environmental monitors) are invited to the Fuji Plant to participate in the Environmental Monitoring Meeting held during Environment Month in June. The meeting consists of a presentation of RC (Responsible Care) activities undertaken by the company, an inspection tour of the plant and its environmentally friendly equipment and facilities, and a session for environmental monitors to express their ideas and opinions. The six pillars of RC are disaster prevention, occupational safety and health, environmental protection, communication, chemical and product safety, and logistics safety. The Fuji Plant received the RC Award this year in recognition of outstanding performance particularly in regard to activities to promote communication with neighborhood residents that have been carried out for many years.
